MILITARY. SPECIFICATION
PAVING MACHINES, BITUMINOUS MATERIAL, CRAWLER-
OR RUBBER TIRE-MOUNTED, SELF-PROPELLED
This specification is approved for use by the Naval Facilities
Engineering Command, Department of the Navy, and is available for
use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1.
SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers two types of commercial,
self-propelled, bituminous material paving machines, (hereinafter referred to
as the paver), capable of laying a strip from 4 1/2 feet to 12 feet wide.
1.2 Classification.
The paver shall be of the following types and classes
as specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Rubber tire mounted.
Type II - Crawler track mounted.
Class I - Gasoline engine driven.
Class II - Diesel engine driven.
